International cooperation and partnership

Laboratory has agreements with Lomonosov Moscow State University and Tomsk Polytechnic University. Specialsts of these science centers had read lectures for laboratory workers to next themes:

  1. The basic principles, peculiarities and methodology of work on atomic force microscope.
  2. The basic principles, peculiarities and methodology of work on chromatography-mass-spectrometer and Highly Effective Liquid Chromatography systems.
  3. The basic principles, peculiarities and methodology of work on Atomic Absorption Spectrometers and UV and visible band spectrometers.

Laboratory development plan

Short-term plan of laboratory development

  • Developing methods of preparation of HELC, chromatography-mass-spectrometry, atomic absorption spectrometry, scanning probe/electron microscopy samples.
  • Complete laboratory equipment:
    • hollow-cathode lamps for 3 elements for AA-140 atomic absorption spectrometer and microwave oven for sample preparation and mineralization of ingoing (starting) material;
    • one of next detectors for HELC: spectrophotometric, amperometric or diode array and chromatographic columns for them;
  • kit for solid phase micro-extraction and station for storage of solid phase extraction adsorbents for Agilent 7890A gas chromatograph (USA) with 5975 inert XL Mass Selective Detector;
  • calculate the net cost of analytical research services on engineering profile laboratory equipment;
  • approve price list for rendering services to scientist of other universities and research centers;
  • creation of production process for manufacturing of composite layers covering friable and dusty surfaces;
  • developing technology of processing of coal tar, bitumen, oil-slime - coke-chemical and oil refining industry wastes into light and average petrochemical fractions;
  • developing technology of processing of coal tar, bitumen, oil-slime - coke-chemical and oil refining industry wastes into light and average petrochemical fractions by hidroimpulse discharge;
  • synthesis and research of new inorganic ceramic nanomaterial, which have perspective electrophysical and multifunctional properties for microelectronics;

Long-term plan of laboratory development

  1. According to memorandum about cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 01.11.2009 laboratory realizes monitoring of objects and bio-objects along south rocket range of “Baikonur” spaceport;
  2. Developing methods of preparation of HELC, chromatography-mass-spectrometry, atomic absorption spectrometry samples;
  3. Developing methods of sample cutting and sample preparation for conducting chemical, biological and ecological-chemical researches;
  4. Training of laboratory workers in leading scientific and analytical centers of foreign countries (Japan, Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Tomsk);
  5. Completing of equipment, purchasing additional complete units and expendables for widening the accreditation field and improvement of the quality of solvable tasks;

Waste processing of coke-chemical and oil refining industries (coal tar, bitumen, oil-slime) in petrochemical fractions using energy of hydroimpulsive discharge. Amount of financing – 1 366 000 tenge. Grant of Science committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Processing of coal tar, bitumen, oil-slime in liquid fuel and petro-coal-chemistry products are urgent problems of deep hydrocarbon raw material processing, also solves problems of environment protection. Developing scientific basis of new material creation and processing of fresh and secondary hydrocarbon and carbonaceous raw material. The researches of drawing liquid oil fractions of petrochemistry product wastes (coal tar, bitumen, oil-slime). There will be starting-up and adjustment works of pilot plant with 10 ton capacity and optimal mode for plant will be chosen.

“Developing technology of drawing road asphalt from coal tar of “Saryarka spec-koks” LLC and “Shubarkol” Corp.” Amount of financing – 500 000 tenge. Customer – «Dorstoimateriali» Company. Processing coal-chemistry industry wastes into bitumen and other road-construction materials is urgent task of deep processing of hydrocarbon raw material. Developing scientific basis of new material creation and technologies of preparing and recycling secondary hydrocarbon raw materials. The different road asphalt types were manufactured and there features were studied. The technology of drawing road asphalt from coal tar was developed. The manufactured road asphalt was tested under production conditions.

“Developing technology of new double ferrite synthesis to obtain multifunctional nanostructural materials for optoelectronics, spintronics and microelectronics” Amount of financing –5.5 million tenge. Grant of Science committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Extension of ferrites’ field of application and hardening requirements for devices on the basis of ferrites demands creation of new ferrite materials, research of effective ways to control their properties, time stability of these properties, under influence of destabilizing factors, developing engineering procedures for fabrication of ferrite items. “Nanotechnology and new materials”, inorganic material technology, including electrochemical (mineral fertilizer, chemical weed and pest killers, new structural and functional materials high purity materials and etc.). The procedure of new double ferrite synthesis was developed, and its composition is LnMe3Fe5O12 (where Ln – La, Nd, Ме –Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba) The rate, staging, time and temperature of synthesis were determined. The X-ray analysis was held and crystal lattice parameters of obtained phases were defined.

The grant of Science committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan № 366 from 20.03.2009 for the “Waste processing of coke-chemical and oil refining industries (coal tar, bitumen, oil-slime) in petrochemical fractions using energy of hydroimpulsive discharge” theme. The researches of drawing liquid oil fractions of petrochemistry product wastes (coal tar, bitumen, oil-slime).

The grant of Science committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan №486 from 16.09.2009 for the “Developing technology of new double ferrite synthesis to obtain multifunctional nanostructural materials for optoelectronics, spintronics and microelectronics” project. The procedure of new double ferrite synthesis was developed, and its composition is LnMe3Fe5O12 (where Ln – La, Nd, Ме –Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba). The rate, staging, time and temperature of synthesis were determined. The X-ray analysis was held and crystal lattice parameters of obtained phases were defined.

On 01.10.2009 was held round-table discussion dedicated to the recovery operations after emergency situations problems with participation of the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bozhko V.K., representatives of emergency situation and environment control departments of Karaganda oblast and scientist of KarSU. The different analysis works are made by order of “Chemical-metallurgical institute” State branch, emergency situation department of Karaganda oblast. The method of heptyl detection in soil and water samples was mastered.

According to order of Akimat of Karaganda region and Hearings of Coordination Council of Forced industrial and innovative development of region № 44 from 26th February of 2010 engineering profile laboratory workers made report about qualitative and quantitative analysis of atmospheric emission (maximum permissible discharge) of autonomous heating systems. In 2010 emission sources of harmful substances on units of Buketov KarSTU, “Sary-Arka” airport and Karaganda region’s multi-field treatment-and-diagnostic association were inventoried. In 2010 was made qualitative and quantitative analysis of amount of polluting emissions from industry sources.

About Center

The laboratory is a department of the Karaganda State University of the name of academician E.A.Buketov. It is founded on 12.02.2009 by Order №156 of the University Rector. The laboratory staff includes 5 worker, 2 of them are Science Candidates. The laboratory is certificated by accreditation system of the Republic of Kazakhstan standards for ISO/IEC 17025-2007 “General requirements for competence of testing and calibration laboratory” (accreditation certificate №KZ.I.10.0745 from 13th April of 2010).

The priority guidelines of laboratory activity (mission)
The fulfilment of relevant fundamental, applied and innovative research works and conducting physicochemical analyses, which have high urgency and scientific meaning.

The aims

  • nanotechnology and new materials;
  • technologies for hydrocarbon and mining-metallurgical sectors and for services attached with them;
  • conducting tests of hydrocarbon industry products;
  • analysis for hazardous substances in environment (soil, water) and biomaterials.

The main tasks

  1. Conducting tests of hydrocarbon industry products, analysis for hazardous substances in environment (soil, water) and biomaterials, also other works according to rules and procedures of the State technical regulation system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  2. Providing completeness and correctness of analysis and researches, objective and reliable results.
  3. Providing of continued operation of quality system of services, rendered for customer.
  4. Conducting theoretical and experimental researches in accreditation field and approved research guidelines.
